We don’t service, diagnose, or repair any vehicles, including those requiring a California smog test or a diesel smog check. Our focus is solely on providing a thorough smog inspection.
In California, a smog inspection is necessary when you register or renew your vehicle registration. However, there are certain exceptions. For instance, if your gasoline-powered vehicle is a 1975 model or older, including motorcycles and trailers, you will not need to undergo the California smog test. Additionally, it's important to note that diesel vehicles may require a diesel smog check under different regulations.
The California smog test for diesel vehicles will involve a visual inspection of your emissions and smog components, a system check of the On Board Diagnostics (OBD II) system, a visual smoke check for excessive black (carbon) smoke, and an EVAP functional test. Diesel cars and trucks that do not pass the diesel smog check will need to be repaired at a diesel vehicle repair shop prior to undergoing another smog inspection.
All of our California smog tests, including the diesel smog check, come with a certification. Please note that additional charges apply for the smog inspection.
